1. How can the following molecules pass the plasma membrane barreer?

 

water, glucose, protons, insulin, the peptide BP100


2. You have isolated a membrane protein, and you suspect that this protein might be an aquaporin. How can you test this hypothesis experimentally?


3. Most signals are perceived by receptors at the plasma membrane, but later result in gene activation. Explain by which mechanisms the information is transmitted between these two events.


4. You want to find out, which genes are upregulated in the colonised host cells of Grapevine affected by Grapevine Downy Mildew. Propose a strategy.
